The Steubenville Nutcracker Village Christmas Market features more than 200 life‑sized nutcrackers along 4th Street. These towering figures celebrate storybook characters, local icons, sports teams, and military branches. Because each nutcracker is sponsored by a local group or business, the entire village feels connected. Every nutcracker begins with the Nelson family. Brodie carves each figure, while the daughters paint and design them. Their mother creates the hair and clothing. You visited on a Sunday, which offered a calmer experience. Although Fridays and Saturdays bring concerts, parades, and larger crowds, weekdays still feel magical. Trees decorated by community groups, a mailbox to Santa, and a miniature train add to the charm. Because the nutcrackers remain on display every day, visitors always have something to enjoy.
If the weather turns cold, visitors can step inside a nearby building filled with nearly 400 nativity scenes.
