Is Brussels Worth Visiting? Yes, Brussels is Belgium’s capital and the administrative center of the European Union. It’s a blend of both old and modern architecture, but it’s the stories behind those landmarks that are so fascinating. But it’s also a totally walkable and safe city… and there are some fun experiences to immerse in, like waffles, chocolate, comic books and beer!
Join Mary as she takes us on whirlwind tour of Brussels.
This church has a fascinating history dating back to the 1300’s and has led to an impressive pageant called Ommegang that’s held here each May.
After checking out the church, hop on a train to go to one of the iconic landmarks in Belgium and learn the meaning of its unique construction.
Out of all the experiences she immerses herself in, this one answers ‘yes’ to the question ‘Is Brussels Worth Visiting’. Mary plays baker and makes the famous Belgian waffles, employing unique ingredients and techniques that differentiate them from other waffles around the world.
There are plenty of ways to make chocolate in Brussels. Mary chooses one workshop that fits into her tight schedule but still gives us insight into what makes this sweet so unique here. She comes away with various chocolate products, from bars to medallions to truffles. She also does some taste testing.
The history of this historic center of Belgium is as intriguing as the place is stunning.
Brussels isn’t only the capital of Belgium. It’s also the center of comics and that’s evident in a unique collection that’s on display in supersized form.
Find out why it’s the only one in the world that’s on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
