Join me as we explore Düsseldorf, Germany’s Fashion and Art Capital. But we only have a few hours to explore this stylish and artistic gem, so let’s get started!
✔️ Rhine Tower is the city’s tallest building & the world’s largest digital clock. Go to the top for an incredible view of the river along the Rhine. Learn the unique way this clock tells time.
✔️ Much of the Altstadt (Old Town) is reconstructed but it’s still a wonderful place to walk around. But Düsseldorf is known for something special. More than 250 bars are virtually connected with each other, making it the ‘longest bar in the world’.
✔️ Inside the Old Town is St. Lambertus Church. This historic landmark is distinguished with a twisted spire and an equally twisted history that goes back well over a hundred years. While the city was damaged heavily during the World War II, the reconstructed church includes much of the original design. It even includes the new spire that’s also twisted to remember the history the community endured.
✔️ Königsallee is a main thoroughfare in Düsseldorf‘s shopper’s paradise. The city is dotted with luxury fashion stores and hundreds of showrooms.
✔️ Kiefernstrasse is a vibrant street filled with urban art, which has a fascinating history that continues to this day.
✔️ In Orbit is a mind-bending art installation by Tomás Saraceno that was temporarily installed at the K21 Ständehaus museum. His work can be found at various location around the world and is worth the immersive experience.
